Mint Julep recipe
A good mint julep takes some skill. If you muddle the mint leaves too much it gets bitter.
- 2.5 oz Bourbon
- 1.25 oz 1:1 simple syrup
- 8 medium whole mint leaves
- 0.25 oz water (optional)
- 2-3 dashes Angostura
Steps:
- Muddle mint and simple syrup in a large rocks glass and let stand
- Add bourbon, water, and bitters; taste
- Add crushed ice to the top of the glass
